How to Prepare Your Home for a Roof, House and/or Cedar Cleaning
The appointment has been made. Your roof cleaning contractor and team of Pros are scheduled. The moss and mold on your roof is practically weeping because it knows… it’s home improvement time which means its moving day. You and your family are days away from having your roof, home, or cedar look like new again and you’ll soon be pulling up to a house where moss, mold, algae and lichen no longer live there. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing— because if you’ve chosen Street Appeal Pros, you have chosen a fully insured, trained team that knows how to complete the job and complete it fully. However, in order to ensure the success of your Roof Cleaning, Cedar Restoration or Vinyl Siding Washing, there are is a short list of things you’ll want to tend to before the work gets started. We’re going to share that list with you to ensure the success of your project. Let’s get to work!
Prepare for How Much it Costs to Clean Your Roof, House, Siding, Etc;
You will receive an estimate covering the costs associated with your project. You will receive the cost of labor and cleaning chemicals. Some jobs require additional materials such as joint sand, water-sealer, paints, primers or building materials, these items will be billed as an “add on” when the job is completed.
Make Sure Rover is Comfy Inside
Many of the homeowners we service have dogs. Often we find that dogs don’t enjoy having the crew up on their roof and working in their backyard and that’s perfectly understandable. You may want to consider keeping the dog confined to an area that they will be comfortable and away from all the activity on that day. Unless your dog is extremely friendly, please keep them indoors during this time. A little CBD dog cookie can also go a long way.
First Signs of Professionalism
Expect to see Street Appeal Pros arrive fully uniformed and in a marked fleet. A Street Appeal Pros yard sign will be put out in front. This lets your neighbors know you’ve hired a reputable, professional team to do the work. This also encourages your neighbors to take a look at their own roof, which is important. Here’s why… Did you know moss, mold, algae and lichen can spread from neighboring homes? Yes! Imagine if a roof has the flu, it can share its germs with neighboring roofs.
Make Sure All Outside Water Sources are ON
You’ll want to be sure all water sources are on so the technicians can access water to pressure wash off the eco-safe cleaning solutions. Know that our team of Pros are all trained and come with equipment to rinse with low PSI to avoid scarring or damage to homes. PSI stands for 'pound per square inch'. It's basically how much 'force' is in a certain area.
Close All Windows & Skylights
Close all windows and skylights to avoid water coming into the home. If you are having your roof cleaned, you will want to make sure skylights are closed so water being used to clean the roof doesn’t drip inside.
Remove All Screens from Windows if Siding is Being Cleaned
Same applies here; if you are having your siding done there is going to be water sprayed in the direction of your windows. The team will avoid windows but over-spray is possible so you will want to remove screens so there isn’t any cleaning solution build up.
Generally, the average standard roof or house cleaning is going to range from about a half day to two days. During that time you can relax, enjoy your time or tend to another project while our team of Pros professionally manages and completes your home improvement project.
